Wiseman's Quest#2: Life-time-

There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven:

a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,

a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,

a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,

a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain,

a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,

a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,

a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.

What does the worker gain from his toil?
The wiseman has seen the burden God has laid on men.

God has made everything beautiful in its time.

God has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end.

The wiseman knows that there is nothing better for men than to be happy and do good while they live. That everyone may eat and drink, and find satisfaction in all his toil—this is the gift of God. He knows that everything God does will endure forever; nothing can be added to it and nothing taken from it. God does it so that men will revere him.

Whatever is has already been,
and what will be has been before;
and God will call the past to account.

And the wiseman saw something else under the sun:
In the place of judgment—wickedness was there,
in the place of justice—wickedness was there.

he thought in his heart,
"God will bring to judgment
both the righteous and the wicked,
for there will be a time for every activity,
a time for every deed."

he also thought, "As for men, God tests them so that they may see that they are like the animals.
Man's fate is like that of the animals; the same fate awaits them both: As one dies, so dies the other. All have the same breath; man has no advantage over the animal.

Everything is meaningless.
All go to the same place; all come from dust, and to dust all return.

Who knows if the spirit of man rises upward and if the spirit of the animal goes down into the earth?"

So he saw that there is nothing better for a man than to enjoy his work, because that is his lot. For who can bring him to see what will happen after him?

(if we all going to die, in one way or another... we should enjoy our work, but not forgetting also that at the end of it, there's a judgement... This is our life-TIME.... one day we will escape the TIME and proceed to after-life... I am going to see my aunt today, hopefully she will have more time... the Lord have mercy... and anyone who reads this.. We need your prayers and intercessions.. because she's in coma. Thanks.)

Wiseman's Quest #1

So it's the story about this wise man again...

"Then he decided to find out all he could about wisdom and foolishness. Soon he realized that this too was as senseless as chasing the wind.

The more you know,
the more you hurt;
the more you understand,
the more you suffer."

So...

He said to himself, "Have fun and enjoy yourself!"
But this didn't make sense.

Laughing and having fun is crazy. What good does it do?

He wanted to find out what was best for human during the short time we have on this earth.

So he decided to make himself happy with wine
and find out what it means to be foolish, without really being foolish himself.

He did some awesome stuff.
He built houses

and planted vineyards
had flower gardens and orchards full of fruit trees.
had pools where he could get water for the trees.

He owned slaves, and their sons and daughters became his slaves.
He had more sheep and goats than anyone who had ever lived in his town.

Great and influential people brought him silver, gold, and precious treasures.
Men and women sang for him, and he had many wives who gave him great pleasure.

He was the most famous person who had ever lived in his town, and he was very wise.

He got whatever he wanted
and did whatever made him happy...
But most of all, he enjoyed his work.

Then he thought about everything he had done, including the hard work, and it was simply chasing the wind. There was nothing to any of it. Nothing.

(I guess he wasn't satisfied so.....)

He asked himself, "What's left to do after you've been great like I am?"

Then he decided to compare wisdom with foolishness and stupidity.

And he discovered that wisdom is

better than foolishness, just as light is better than darkness. Wisdom is like having two good eyes; foolishness leaves you in the dark.

But wise or foolish, we all end up the same.

Finally, he said to himself, "Being wise got me nowhere! The same thing will happen to me that happens to fools. Nothing makes sense. ...

Wise or foolish, we all die and are soon forgotten."

This made him hate life.

Everything human do is painful; it's just as senseless as chasing the wind.

Suddenly he realized that others would someday get everything he had worked for so hard, then he started hating it all.
Who knows if those people will be sensible or stupid? Either way, they will own everything he has earned by hard work and wisdom. It doesn't make sense.

He thought about all his hard work, and felt depressed.

When we use our wisdom, knowledge, and skill to get what we own, why do we have to leave it to someone who didn't work for it? This is senseless and wrong.

What do we really gain from allof our hard work? Our bodies ache during the day, and work is torture. Then at night our thoughts are troubled. It just doesn't make sense.

The best thing we can do is to
enjoy
eating,
drinking,
and working.

This also he has seen that it is from the hand of God. For who can eat and who can have enjoyment without Him?

For to a person who is good in His sight, He has given wisdom and knowledge and joy.

But if we sin, God will make us struggle for a living, then he will give all we own to someone who pleases God. This makes no more sense than chasing the wind.

Nothing Makes Sense

There was someone, he was known to be very wise, and he said:

Nothing makes sense!
Everything is nonsense.
I have seen it all--
nothing makes sense!

What is there to show for all of our hard work here on this earth?

People come, and people go, but still the world never changes.

The sun comes up, the sun goes down; it hurries right back to where it started from. The wind blows south, the wind blows north; round and round it blows over and over again.

All rivers empty into the sea, but it never spills over; one by one the rivers return to their source.

All of life is far more boring than words could ever say.
Our eyes and our ears are never satisfied with what we see and hear.

Everything that happens has happened before;
nothing is new, nothing under the sun.

Someone might say, "Here is something new!"
But it happened before, long before we were born.

No one who lived in the past is remembered anymore, and everyone yet to be born will be forgotten too.

With all his (the wise person) wisdom he tried to understand everything that happens here on earth. And God has made this so hard for us humans to do.

I have seen it all, and everything is just as senseless as chasing the wind.
If something is crooked,
it can't be made straight;
if something isn't there,
it can't be counted.

He said to himself, "You are by far the wisest person in town. You are eager to learn, and you have learned a lot."

Then he decided to find out all he could about wisdom and foolishness. Soon he realized that this too was as senseless as chasing the wind.

The more you know,
the more you hurt;
the more you understand,
the more you suffer.

How to lead worship in cell group

Hi all.

I was wondering if anyone could share tips on how to lead worship in cell group. For problems like:
1) song choice,
how to bring atmosphere of praise when everyone is lethargic,
what's a good song to start off
2) how to flow in the spirit,
how to break out of the structure
3) strumming tips,
4) song key (too low for girls, too high for guys, how to bring a balance), keys of the songs chosen (should it be progressively up, or random??)
5) key progression for worship, meditative, to fill-in for prayer time
etc etc

Thanks!!

Nintendo Entertainment System

I can't believe this. I actually played the lame duck hunt game until now.

I wikipedia-ed the game, and reviewers were saying: "...scoring the game a "D" and stating "there's really not much substance to it ... overall Duck Hunt is pretty lame, and only worth playing for a trip down memory lane."..."

But it does brings back memories. I still remember my cousins and I will fight over the chance to play nintendo!! My mom loved the game too! She loved shooting the flying plates..

Remember this console??? haha

And this!! This is the zapper that I'd be fighting for when I play nintendo with my cousins. LOL.

Time flies!! Now my cousin, who used to play nintendo with me, is getting married 2 weeks from now. HAHA. I can't wait to go back home again~~

Freedom in 2 weeks

I am so looking forward to being a student again. In 2 weeks, my industrial attachment will end. I was having lunch at arts canteen just now, saw a few students, with the usual student's attire of shorts and t-shirt. Ah.. how I miss that! Freedom and flexibility with time.. Hanging around at the benches... going to comcen to study... sleeping in lectures :x haha and buying coffee during lecture breaks. I love student life. Last year in campus!! :(((((((

cactus

Due to quite boring life in hall during vacation stay, I've developed a hobby of keeping cactus. Initially I bought the left one (dunno what is the name) during the exam period...

Today, I decided to buy one more (should be
Gymnocalycium mihanovichii the root stalk is Hylocereus trigonus) So here they are. Bought bigger pot for them too, plus a wooden box. I hope they'll grow and not die like the one that I gave to my sister.

Partial Differentiation is no kick!

Not with Mathematica!

undergrad no longer needs to know how to differentiate, integrate, maybe even multiplication. it'll be nice if i can bring this into exam hall. HAHA
