First entry after so many months... [reflection]

Wow.. i'm blogging again.. After deleting all my previous blogs.. Well.. I dun know why I am doing this but I guess it's a great tool for reflection..

Reflection.. Yesterday my shepherd just shared with me something about reflection..

(James 1:22-25 NIV)
22Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. 23Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror 24and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. 25But the man who looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues to do this, not forgetting what he has heard, but doing it- he will be blessed in what he does.

She said that she ponders over what it means by looking at the mirror..
When we see the mirror we reflect on our own. God is like our mirror. When we come to Him we will be reminded of our filthiness. (And that doesn't mean that we have to condemn ourselves. But God is always good and merciful to offer us His forgiveness) So the more we look at the mirror the more we know about ourselves.
Another thing that comes into my mind is that when we look at the mirror.. We can see who is reflected. Is it still ourselves? Or do we see Christ? Have we transform into His likeness that we see Christ in us?

Reflection is a very important thing because it leads to understanding of what righteousness means. (You see when we know that something is wrong it does not mean that we know the way to righteousness. So repentance is when we turn away from our evil ways and start to make 180 deg turn back to the point where we go wrong and head for the right way..) It is indeed very important. I believe we always hear turn from your evil ways!! Repent for the Lord's Day is near!! But how will we know what is evil ways when we don't even look at the mirror and reflect? And not only that we have to reflect.. After looking at the mirror, we must also read the Word. The Word gives us cleansing.. Teach us of the righteous way..

(WOah.. why do I sound like I am preaching?? :p)

Well.. today the first thing I did in the morning is to have a morning walk.. half way round NUS. Can u believe it? It was harder than I thought. And well.. I was thinking.. Jesus could walk from city to city!! Without complaining! I am only walking from pgp to 'love bridge'. It was encouraging to see another Christian group was praying there too.. Yes.. Lord's people gather together to intercede for this land. I just hope that I will have the desire to intercede for this land. Cos I am placed in this place by God. Yah. If I had to tell the story about how God brought me here in NUS I think I would sound more like preaching haha..

But I just have to share this.. Not my story.. but one thing that was shared at the prayer meeting.. It was shared by my shepherd too.

(Exodus 32:31-32 NIV)
31 So Moses went back to the LORD and said, "Oh, what a great sin these people have committed! They have made themselves gods of gold. 32 But now, please forgive their sin-but if not, then blot me out of the book you have written."

Wow.. moses love the people of Israel so much. See how he is interceding for them! It takes a close relationship with God to say that. (after so many times meeting the Lord and being filled with His glory) Really.. It is a seed that God has implanted in Moses' spiritual womb that has grown. He has the burden for his nation. Great great burden. Burden that is God given.. A great great prophet.. I think I have to do a bible study on what Moses actually do to reach that stage.
